Ammonia (NH₃)

Ammonia (NH₃) is a gas primarily emitted from agricultural activities, particularly livestock waste and the use of fertilizers. It can also originate from certain industrial processes.

In the atmosphere, ammonia reacts with other pollutants to form fine particulate matter (PM₂.₅), which can affect human health. Elevated ammonia levels may also contribute to unpleasant odours and environmental impacts such as soil and water acidification.
